We’re excited to announce our workshop lineup for 2026!
Step inside one of the country’s premier recording studios and learn how records actually get made.
All workshops take place at Echo Mountain’s professional studio in downtown Asheville. Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience hands-on and high quality.
These are immersive, small group workshops designed for independent artists, aspiring engineers, producers, songwriters, and curious creatives who are ready to move beyond guesswork. You’ll work on real gear, inside real sessions, guided by professional engineers who do this every day.

Whether you join us for a single half-day workshop, an intensive Weekend Workshop, or commit to the full workshop series, you’ll walk away with practical studio skills you can use immediately.
Single workshops are held at Echo Mountain Recording in downtown Asheville on Saturdays from10am-2pm. Each workshop is limited to 10 attendees. Snacks and beverages are provided at each workshop. For the August 1st and 2nd Weekend Workshop, lunch is also provided. Free parking is available on-site, or nearby street/garage parking is available at city rates.

EQ and compression are powerful tools. Used poorly, they can wreck a mix. Used well, they elevate everything.
This workshop is ideal for artists mixing their own work, early career engineers, and producers ready to refine their ear. You will work on real session material, apply subtractive EQ, shape tone intentionally, and learn how compression actually behaves.
You will learn:
How to read and understand the frequency spectrum
When to cut versus boost
How threshold, ratio, attack, and release change feel
How to avoid over processing
You will leave knowing when and why to use these tools, not just how to turn the knobs.
